Our First Family Camping Experience

Oh boy... where do I start?

Scott and I decided that we want to take the kids camping this summer, but we were a little nervous as they are pretty young still. So, we decided to do a little practice camping. We had talked about it for weeks but nothing really came of it. I guess I figured that if Scott wanted to, he would initiate, but I wasn't going to (nor did I really want to).

And then Scott initiated it... oh boy. He got the tent up in the back yard at about 8:30 - Scotty's usual bedtime. We let Scotty continue to play outside till it got dark, and then all four of us climbed in the tent. I have to admit I was somewhat scared getting inside that tent... 2 tired and fussy babies, one tired (and probably a little fussy) mom and a very optimistic dad - poor Scott!

Anyway, the night went fine. The kids finally fell asleep around 10:30ish. I climbed up onto the cott at that point and left Scott on the ground with the two babies. At about midnight Scott moved himself between the babies b/c Scotty kept hitting his sister in his sleep. Around 1am the stupid neighbor dog woke me up and decided that it was a good time to bark, and bark, and bark. That thing kept me up for a good hour or so... stupid dog!

Scotty and Dad were sharing a sleeping bag, and I guess Scotty kept pulling it off of Dad, which kept Scott awake and cold for most of the night. I pulled Jane up by me half way through the night, I was worried about her being cold... my little angel.

Jane is so excited to go camping!!
This one is a little blurry, but I just love how Scotty adores his little sister! And Jane's eyes are so funny... is she scared or excited? Probably both.

The kids get a real kick out of eachother!
Mom loves her angel girl!!

They caught me!

The next morning I got up first. I loved looking at my sweet little family all sleeping together. We decided that the kids will do fine camping, it is the parents that might suffer...

Our morning snuggles... just ignore the hair!

Scotty loved the feeling of the tent
"This is great! We wake up and we're outside already! Let's do this everynight?"
