Last week our RS had one of the coolest Enrichment nights ever. I think it was so great b/c we had it at a sister's home, and that made it more relaxed. Also, we had an almost pro bread maker showing us how to make bread. Although I have made bread before, it wasn't this easy, or fun. I am so glad I didn't think of some lame excuse to skip out. I thought I would include the recipe for the rolls...
One Hour Rolls
1 cup hot water
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp oil
2 tbsp warm water
2 tbsp yeast (don't double if doubling recipe)
1 edd
1/4 cup sugar
3 1/2 cup flour
Combine hot water, salt, oil, and sugar. When cool add yeast. Add egg and half the flour. Beat well. Add enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead for 5ish minutes. Divide into 18 balls. Place in greased pan. Brush with melted butter. Cover, let raise.
Bake 375 for 12 minutes.
They are a lot like Rhoades Rolls, just cheaper and better because you get the satisfaction of knowing you made them yourself. We learned a bunch of variations too; cinnamon rolls, pizza pocket things, bread.
As I was walking out with my rolls (that still needed to be baked) I realized I had driven the scooter....
