"Life is to be enjoyed, not endured"

Pres. Hinckley could have been talking about me today with that quote. Today was like most days at our house. Scotty wakes us up around 7:30 or 8, clean up the house while Scotty plays around. Protect Jane from her big brother, try to get her to take a nap sometime in the morning. Squeeze in a few errands before Scotty goes down for a nap around noon. Try to get Jane to take a nap while Scotty is sleeping. Clean up the mess Scotty made that morning, nap or blog, which ever is more needed. Scotty wakes up, finish the errands that we didn't get done earlier before Scott gets off work, etc.

Joe and the kids and I were just leaving a stressful trip to Costco (I realized at the check-out counter that I didn't have my debit card - why don't they take credit??? grrr!), it was hot (I think the AC in the car is going again), both kids were crying and we still had to go open the concession stand. To say the least, I was losing my cool - in more ways that one.

Out of no where, Joe says with the biggest grin on his face, "You so cute".
"What?" I asked, was he talking to me?
"You so cute, you stress out".

It took me so off guard that I couldn't do anything but smile and laugh. Here I was just enduring the day, which really wasn't bad, just a few hick-ups here and there, and I totally needed to enjoy it! After all, it's not like Costco is hours away, it is 5 minutes from my house - with traffic. I could go back. And there was a park at the concession stand, Scotty would be able to run around and play and not have to scream in a hot car. And Jane would be fine as soon as she fell asleep. So I decided that instead of going straight to the stand, we would make a little pit stop for a little break. First we went and got soda's to help cool us down, and then we went to one of the greatest places ever invented... the Dollar Store! We decided to get some sunglasses and a ball for Scotty - I also got some new matching dish towels (I loved bagging up my old mismatched ones for D.I.).

I love Joe, and I love that he knows just how to help me enjoy life a little more. I am so blessed to have him in my life!
