We went to the Field Of Heroes tonight in honor of Memorial Day tomorrow. It was beautiful. We caught the last half of a ceremony for soldiers, fallen and returned home. As I watched these old and young men participate in the ceremony I couldn't help but feel humbled to be with them.
I don't know if it is just that I am becoming more aware of what is going on in the government and around the world, or what, but each day I become more and more concerned for the future of this country, for the future of my kids, their kids. Has the world always been such a scary place?

As I walked among the thousands of white crosses, reading the names of the brave soldiers that fought to keep the scary parts of the world away from me and my children, who ran and played in the crosses so innocently. Having no idea what sacrifices have been made so that they could run and play in a field. I thought of these men that have fallen, and the thousands more that have fought and are fighting now, that thankfully don't have their names on those crosses, but have given their lives in other ways for the America that they love. To these amazing men and women, "I may not know all that you sacrifice, all that your families sacrifice, but I am grateful to you for keeping my children safe. Thank You."
