My Very Own Hobby

A couple weeks ago, while the kids were napping, I was blog surfing (a hobby all of it's own) and stumbled across the sweetest DIY website (besides Carolina Fair Designs of course!!). It's called Knock-Off Wood, and it is amazing. Caution: don't click on the preceding link with out giving yourself a few hours.

After spending the rest of nap time, and then all of the evening once the kids were in bed, I had my first project planned; the Modern Kids Picnic Table. I went to Lowe's, bought the wood I needed (had them cut it!!) and brought it home to put together. Aside from a few hiccups, the table went together smoothly and only took a total of a couple hours (over a period of a couple days... I'm not superwoman!!).

We gave it to Kade for his birthday, but it was mainly for the new baby. I am now making one for my kids. After my table is done, I plan on making a new computer desk for myself and a bench for my dining room table. After that, who knows?
