Celebrating Jane

Jane is One Year Old today.

I can't believe my little baby isn't quite a baby anymore. I don't have her 1yr old stats yet, her doctors appointment isn't for another few weeks - I will post those when I get them.

We had a Birthday party for her at Grandma and Grandpa Porter's house tonight. She was so cute with her cake and ice cream... we made her wait till today to have any (except the few bites her big brother has snuck her when we weren't looking). So tonight was a big night... the first of many (I am sure!) treats for this little girl. And of course, only the best would do for our little Princess - she got Tastee Treet ice cream!!

Jane is getting closer and closer to walking every day - she will hold onto the wall, furniture, her brother, whatever is closest, to help balance her so she can practice her walking. Scotty hates it when she holds onto him, but I can't help laugh remembering him doing the same thing to his cousins.

Jane has two words in her vocabulary. The first - Momma. I love it. She usually only says it when she is tired or hurt and wants me to hold her. However and whenever it comes, I love hearing it. Her second word - NO. Not really surprising since she is such a little fire cracker. The fact that she has a 2 yr old brother who both says "No", and gets told "No" a lot, probably doesn't help the matter either.

Jane is kind of a Momma's girl, which I am very OK with. Don't get me wrong, she loves her Daddy, and loves competing with her brother for his attention every time he comes home from work, but nothing can quite compete with the chance to be held by Mom as I read to her, play with one of her dolls with her, make dinner, or even tidy a room. She is so dang sweet. I love my little one, and am so blessed to be her Mommy. Thanks Janey May for being such a perfect little girl!!
