We went with Jay and Kassie this past weekend to get our Christmas Tree. I love our tradition of cutting down our tree. We almost didn't this year... Mom had given us one when she moved, and since we already had it, Scott thought it was "financially smart" to use that one and not pay for a tag. I thought that was the cheap way out, but let him win on that one since Janey couldn't come hiking with us anyway. So we put up our fake tree and called it good. But then the most wonderful thing happened - our tree broke and fell over! I told Scott it was a sign that we shouldn't break from tradition, and he let me win that one.
Susan watched Janey for us and Scott, Joe, Scotty, Jay, Kassie and I drove up to Soda Springs to get our trees (Jay and Kassie got one too).
On our way to find our trees, we passed this plant that was pouring out what looked like lava. I was convinced there was a volcano erupting and we were the first to know about it, but it turns out I was wrong...
We also saw a moose as we got closer to the forests. As long as I lived in Jackson, I only saw a moose once and it was too far away to really see it, so I was pretty excited to see this big guy. I just wish Scotty could have understood what I was saying when I told him there was a moose... maybe if I had said cow he would have looked:).
Jay and Kassie found their tree pretty fast. Aren't they cute? I love Kassie.
Ours took a little more hunting to find the "perfect" one. Scotty didn't mind though. He loved being in the snow. It was kinda hard for him to walk, so we helped him out a bit.
We brought the sled for Scotter. He wasn't quite sure about it at first, but warmed up to the idea when Dad got on with him.
So this is probably obvious, but I am so attracted to my husband. He is so handsome! I love his eyes, and smile, and everything else about him.
He was so excited to be outside. Poor thing, with all this snow he rarely gets to go outside. Lately he has been getting all too familiar with the mall and McDonalds playgrounds.
Uncle Jay pulling Scott and Scotty on the sled!
Then Scott pulled Scotty and I for a while.
Scotty and Daddy playing in the snow! Scotty loved sledding, but he didn't like going by himself.
This is my favorite picture of the day... of an amazing dad with his adorable boy, on a perfect day.
