We had such a fun Halloween weekend! Last night kicked off the festivities with a Special Olympics Halloween party. Can I just say, you haven't been to a party till you have been to a Special Olympics party!! Scott and I dressed up as a Rock Star and groupie, that was fun. I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years! I felt so, so young! I have decided that I want to dress up every year - it is so therapeutic! I don't know if it was the short skirt or the lipstick, but I just felt like a new woman that night!
This was the only pic we got of my outfit... I seriously need to give the camera to someone else once in a while!!

Anyway, the party was great. Great food, hilarious costumes (I think my favorite - besides Scott's - was the thirty year old Olympian dressed as Hannah Montana, purple microphone and all) and to top it all off, they had bobbing for apples!
Joe said that he would only bob if Scott did...
Joe bobbed!
Scotty didn't quite get the idea of the whole bobbing thing. Why stick your head in when it is so much easier to grab it with your hand??

Janey was such a good little pumkin. Poor thing, it was way past her bed time (which has been about 6:30pm these days!!) but she did so well.

I think Scotty's favorite part of the party was the stroller and grocery cart he got to push around!
We started out the day today going to Swore Farms (a local farm here in Poky) with our good friends Nate and Bethany and their little girl, Libby. Scotty and Libby are such cute little friends, it was fun to see them playing together! Swore farms had a cute kiddie corn maze that we all had fun going through. Scotty got to pick a pumpkin, feed a horse a corn stock, climb on a tractor, get his face painted and get some hot (well, warm) cocoa. - As I wrote that last sentence, I realized that Joe did all of those things as well and enjoyed just as much, if not more, than Scotty did! I love Joe!!

Scotty and Libby were so cute walking around the corn maze!
Joe was our corn maze guide... he found the right way through trial and error, so when we came around we knew which was to go. Thanks Joe!
I love my little man. Do you see the "ghost" on his cheek. Ya, I know, it doesn't look like a ghost. I wouldn't have known that was what it was, except that I told her to do it. I guess I can't criticize too much... the artist was only 10. Oh, and please take note of the cute guy smiling behind us... he must have a very happy life!
This was pumpkin bowling. Both the kids loves this one, and how could they not? There was a ball and they could through it... cool!
Libby liked picking up the gourds better than hitting them...
And Scotty had a hard time not throwing the ball too high!
Me, Bethany and Libby.

Scott, Nate and Scotty
Scotty loved the tractor. He kept saying kuck, kuck and vroom, vroom!
Joe really liked it too!
What a beautiful little girl!!
The kids were not happy about being in that wheel and would not look at us, no matter what we did. Oh well, you win some, you lose some I guess...
After naps and lunch we headed over to Old Town to enjoy a little trick-or-treating with some of the local businesses. We met up with Nate and Bethany again, this time all the kids (and Joe) were in full costume, Scotty as Mickey Mouse, Jane as a Pumpkin Princess, Libby as an Elephant and Joe as Indiana Jones. So, it was awkwardly weird to hold a candy bag for a baby, that everyone knew wasn't going to eat any - but I wasn't willing to put it down because secretly, I wanted that candy!
We then went to see Scotter's cousins, Nick and Kevin, and then Grandma and Grandpa Porter for more trick-or-treating. Grandma and Grandpa had some really yummy candy (I love snickers!) that Scott and I, I mean Scotty, will really enjoy! We hurried and got home so we didn't miss any little monsters coming by our house.
Joe had fun handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters while Scott and I took Scotty around the block. We only hit about 4 houses, and Scotty is too shy to say anything to the people at the door (but oddly enough, not too shy to walk into their houses to play with their pig figurine collection!) but it was fun to be out there with him. I loved celebrating Halloween with my little man. As much as I remember loving this holiday when I was young, today was definitely my favorite!
Scotty loved all the candy! He kept saying cookie, cookie!! I guess they are both sweet, so it works.
And here is my scary little man. He found Dad's wig and loved it!!
