A Romantic at Heart

It may not seem like it to most people, but my husband is a romantic at heart! Last night our stake had a Sweetheart Dinner and Dance for the married wards. So the first thought I had was, "CHEESEY!!". But then my second thought was, "...free food and babysitting??, ok!!". So we went, and we had such a good time.

I thought this shot was so cute... this is Kip (from our ward) with his daughter, and Scott with Scotty. Two dads show their babies how it was done in "their day"!! Now that is priceless!!
I think the best part of the whole night was when Scott got home from work just a few hours before the date. He brought home a flower plant for me (that is two flowers in two weeks - I don't know what has gotten into him!!) that was wrapped in a diaper. There was a note inside that read, "I'd wet my plants if you would go to the sweetheart dance wid me". I guess he had been talking about how to ask me with some of his seminary students and they helped him out a little... so cute!!
After the dinner, tables were cleared and the dance began. For somewhat obvious reasons, I didn't participate in the dancing a whole lot. Except for when they played a slow song... then, of course, I wasn't going to pass up a chance to be held by my sweet husband. About 20 minutes into dancing, Scott and I decided that Scotty would have a lot of fun with us, so we took him from the nursery and brought him in with us. The whole night was so much fun. I loved being able to chat with members of the ward and get to know them a little bit more, the food was great, and Scott was so amazing the whole night - even though I know he hates dancing. He is so good to me!
