After my massage I went to pick Scotty up from Grandma's and ended up staying a little while longer so Scotty could play with his cousins. By the time we left he was so tired he didn't even mind me putting on his hat. The ride home was silent and when I looked back at my sweet little boy, I couldn't help but smile...
Then just a few minutes later, he's out!
The cuteness didn't stop there though. After we got home, he woke up when I was changing him. I laid him in his crib and thought he would go right to sleep - but a few minutes later he was crying. I went in to check on him and he is standing up in his crib looking at the door, just waiting for me to come in. He started laughing when I opened the door (how can you be mad at that?). I laid him back down and left the room. A few minutes later he is crying again, so I go to check on him again and he is, again, standing looking at the door. This time though he doesn't laugh, but just rubs his eyes because he is so tired. It seems that in all of Scotty's excitement to learn how to stand up and walk, he has yet to learn how to sit himself back down again. Of course he can fall, but it's not like he is going to do that on purpose. So he was crying because he wanted to lay down and go to sleep. That was one of those moments that I could not imagine being anything or anywhere else but but a mom at home, putting my sweet little boy to bed.
