My first born is 3 years old today. How is this possible? This sweet little boy, the one that made me a mother, is growing too fast. How is it possible that the little baby I brought home crying from the hospital, that completely changed my life in more ways that I even know, is talking and running, still crying (sometimes) and starting preschool. How does three years go buy so fast? Please tell me that the next 3 will go by slower.
Scotty is such a big boy. The other day he told me, "I'm a good helper Mom.", and he is! He is so sweet to his sister. Of course, he is a big brother, and takes her toys and wrestles her down and wakes her up too early in the morning, but he also kisses her goodnight every night, and tells her good job when she goes pee pee in the potty and helps her up the side of the sofa when they are playing their jumping games. He is the best brother my sweet little Jane could ask for.
Scotty has this way of talking like he is all grown up that I just adore. He will turn his head a little and say something like "Daddy's at work Mom", or "Buzz Lightyear is hiding?". OK, I am not doing him justice here. It is more his tone. I am going to have to get it on video, it is just took cute to explain in words.
We had Scotty's birthday party at the local McDonald's Playland, and I am so glad we did. Scotty loved it. When we first got there, he sat at the table and just watched as Scott and I set up balloons, and hats for all the kids. We, of course, got him a Thomas the Train cake, ( an ice cream cake from the Treet), which we all loved. As family starting coming in, he would say "Look, it's my birthday party!". He was so happy to be there. We got him a Happy Meal (to split with Jane - they barely finish one between the two of them) but got him his own chocolate milk, which he was pretty excited about.
Scotty got his first bike for his birthday this year. He was pretty excited about it, as were all the other cousins that took turn riding it, since Scotty wasn't quite as confident on it as they were.
Grandpa and Grandma Porter came, as well as Uncle Chris, Uncle Steve, Aunt Brittany, Nick, Kevin, Sam, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Andrea, Pax, Aden, Holly, Uncle Jay and Kassie - and of course Scott and Jane and I were there.
