No More "Beep Beep"

What a sad day. We sold our little yellow scooter earlier this week. It was kind of a no-brainer. The guy that bought it was offering us $200 more than what we bought it for 2 years ago. When he pulled up to our house in a yellow Mustang, we knew why he wanted our scooter so bad. Still it was sad.
So many wonderful family memories include that scooter. Like when Scott taught me how to ride it in the cemetery across from Tastee, with Scotty watching, or when Scott put Scotty in the front storage compartment when he was barely sitting up just to tease me, the numerous times that Scotty has asked to go for a "beep beep" ride with Dad when he got home from work, or Janey waiting patiently for her turn to ride the "beep beep."
The morning of the day we sold the scooter, we took a family ride around the block (sidewalks only, of course!) a few times. As pathetic as it might sound. I almost cried. Not for the scooter, it's just a scooter, but because Scotty loved riding it with his dad. As soon as money isn't an issue, I am totally buying another "beep beep" for my little man; and a big boy "beep beep" sport bike for his daddy as well. (That last bit about the sport bike was added by Scott after I wrote this post... nice try Dad.)

We haven't had the heart to tell Scotty that it is gone. He has asked about it a couple times, but I usually just change the subject, hoping he will forget. Is that bad?

And because he was so darn cute in that front compartment...

was he ever that little??
