We went to SLC this weekend to see Hy and Brie for the Conference/Easter weekend, as well as b/c I flew out to FLORIDA (I love it here!!) to help Itsy out with the birth of her little Nolan. Scott and I got a chance to go to the morning session of Conference (thanks Kassie!!), it was so wonderful to be there. There's nothing quite like being in the same room as the Prophet of the Lord. Scott also got a chance to go to the Priesthood session at the Conference center, and he loved it.
We all did Easter baskets with the kids on Sunday morning, which was so fun. It was so nice to be at Hy and Brie's again for Easter, but this time Jay and Kassie were there to celebrate with us. Later that evening, we took Scotty and Jane on the Trax in SLC, Scotty loved it. It was so fun to watch him stare at all the people and buildings as we passed them. He loved not being in a car seat. The best part was when another train would pass by "Bye-bye choo choo train!!". Oh, I love my boy!
We rode up to Temple Square, walked around for a little while, checked out some of Great Grandfather Fairbanks' sculptures, went up to see the Christus, walked over to the waterfall, and then went back to Hy and Brie's. I loved having such a great family activity with the kids right before we left.
So, I don't know if it was because of the amazing talks we heard in Conference, or because of it being Easter Sunday and everything that comes with that, or because I was leaving for a week and a half, but I was so emotional this past weekend. All the talks made me so grateful for my amazing family and the gospel. I loved showing Scotty the sculptures that are so amazingly beautiful and meaningful that are part of his family history. And hearing him say "Joseph" and "Jesus" meant so much more to me, knowing that Scott and I were helping him to learn about the gospel and his Savior. It never ceases to amaze me how much more grateful I am to know the Plan of Salvation, now that I have these beautiful babies that I can share it with and because of our Savior, I will have them forever. So, let's just say, I cried a lot this weekend.
(I don't know why this is upside down... but I will have to fix it when I get home.) When Scott showed Scotter this picture he yelled "Mommy up high! Mommy up high! [come] down mommy."
