A Haircut for Scotty

Friday Morning:
I gave Scotty a haircut, and I was rather proud of myself. Thinking back to the first time a gave Scott a haircut, in which I cried and he laughed, I felt like I had come quite a ways in my hair cutting skills. Throughout the haircut, Scotty kept asking if he could use the clippers, to which I of course responded with a no.

Saturday Morning:
I was in the shower, Scott was downstairs starting laundry for the day. We both here a scream coming from the boy. I could tell it was a scared scream more than a hurt scream. To be honest, I assumed he saw a flying bug (which he has developed a fear of since our trip to FL), so I wasn't too worried and figured Scott had it handled.
When I came out of the bathroom I saw a whimpering boy in his Daddy's arms. I went over to see how he was doing and stopped in shock. Scotty had a white hairless patch on his head. I laughed right out loud, hard.
Scott had come upstairs to find Scotty had plugged in the clippers and was playing with him. He didn't notice anything weird when he picked him up to console the crying little boy, except a bunch of little hairs on his shirt. Scott ran his fingers through his hair only to have a clump of hair fall to the ground. My sweet little boy couldn't take no for an answer and wanted to use the clippers himself.

Turns out, Scotty had screamed out of fear of the "fire" as he called it. While the clippers were plugged in, he had cut the cord with the scissors, which caused sparks/"fire". With all said and done, we are just glad we didn't have a house fire from the sparks, a visit to the ER from shocked little boy, or a little girl with a matching hair cut to her brother.

I guess Scotty didn't think his haircut was that great after all.
