A visit from Itsy isn't quite complete without a trip to Jackson Hole. So, yesterday we took a little one day road trip out that great place. I love going back there with Itsy reminiscing about the shopping that we did way too often, the boys that we flirted with way too much, the rafting that we should have done more of, the food that is amazing and fattening, the hikes that were too long and the friends that we miss. Jackson is such a special place to me, and I love that it is somewhat close, so it's not such a huge thing to go out there.
Yesterday was fun because it was so different than what our Jackson trips have been like in the past. The day was almost incomparable with past trips as single women. With Itsy having Elaina, and I having Scott, Scotty and Jane, and then Joe coming along, it was completely different, but so much fun at the same time... just a different kind of fun. We were able to share this amazing place that we love so much with people we love. It was definitely a day to be remembered.
The first half of our trip was spent down in Star Valley, Wyoming visiting one of my best friends, Angela, and her family. It was so nice to catch up and adore each other's babies over lunch. her little family is growing and getting cuter every time I see them. I love that with Ange, even though we haven't seen each other in over a year, when we do get to see each other, we don't skip a beat. There's no guilt trips about not calling or visiting (from either side), we are just happy to see each other again. As I said good-bye, I didn't know when the next time would be that I get to see her again, but that doesn't matter really. We are friends. And time can't do a thing to that.

I love that Scotty is in the background.

We then drove up the beautiful canyon, following the Snake River and headed into Jackson. We decided to do our hike first, which turned out to be a good idea... the lighting was gorgeous and I we probably would have spent too much time shopping. So we drove through the city and on to our hiking destination. We drove up to the Goodwin Lake Trail. Joe was a little nervous about how high we were going, but as soon as he could get out of the car and see we were safe, he was better. The hike was beautiful. We didn't quite make it to the lake. About 1 1/2 hours into it, we decided we should get the kids back to the city and get them some food (at least that's what I told Scott - I was starving and my legs are way too out of shape to hike up hill for that long!!). Along the hike, we had the most magnificent views of the Teton Mtn. Range. I think the Tetons are my most favorite mountains. They are just breath taking.
Scotty is helping Mom and Dad get up the mountain.
Auntie Itsy and Baby Scotty are taking the lead for the group. Hope we can keep up!!

I love the Tetons!!

I love how happy Joe is in the shot.

Anyway, when we got back to Jackson we had dinner at the famous Billy's Burgers and went into the Trading Co. I had a chance to catch up with another old friend, Jirel, while everyone else shopped. At about 10pm, we finally loaded into the car to head home. I didn't want to leave, but the babies needed to. Now I am looking forward to my next trip to Jackson and hoping it doesn't take me another year to get up there!
